Fall 1999

[This is the first year for many years that we will not be visiting Winston to clean the salmon we pull from the cold waters of Bear Creek.  Pete's, an old destination, will be the new fish cleaning station since Winston is retired.] -- An early prediction proved false.  Much to our surprise, Winston was open on the weekends to clean the salmon pulled from the local waters.  Jim Willman tried to strike up a conversation with the Stoic Winston, but unfortunately met little success.  Winston was quiet as ever and met the barrage of questions with the same patience he presents the Salmon under his knife.  A quiet smile and short answer was all we could snag from Winston this fall.  He is working the summer at a local golf course and spending the winters earning unemployment.
