The Story
Matt Brown joined me for a quick float down a fat river full of steelhead. We got a late start on Saturday afternoon, found a perfect campsite pre-stocked with firewood. We cooked a quick meal around a warm fire and hit the sack before the rains fell. Windy thunderstorms blew through all night - and in the morning, full blue sky and a warm south wind blew us straight to Bear Creek landing on Sunday. Fabulous for the end of March.
Pre-Plan
Fishermen and Paddlers. This is the spring opportunity to get both in before the days warm to discomfort. We will head up on Friday night, find a remote hole to camp/sleep within close proximity to our put-in at Tippy. We'll catch an early breakfast at Lenz's in Kaleva and hit the river as soon as possible. Times and distances all depend on who floats with us. Saturday night we'll camp at that old Indian campground we have come to know so well. And hopefully, we'll land a bright chomer along the way.
Let us know if you want to join us.
