| Vision | Saturday: We will head to Garrett's Corner for breakfast and then a quick drive to the Pine River takeout. The livery will take us to the put-in where we can take our time paddling down a fine Michigan River back to our vehicles and then to camp. Sunday: At the earliest possible departure, swimmers and the brave will join us for a short trip down the Little Manistee River - one of the L.P.'s fastest rivers. Unless we get an overwhelming attendance, we will self-serve our boat needs. If you want to experience exhilarating Michigan water, sign up for this trip too. Important: Children under 12 will only be allowed on the river if the parents paddling have paddle the Pine previously. |

Camping |
Pine River Paddlesports We will camp in one of their group camping areas. Be sure to mention you are with the GMAC group when reserving and paying for your spot. They lock down the campground at 10pm. This is a quiet campground. We cannot enjoy the banjo playing hootenany that we have the past few years. |

| Facilities |
This is a full facilities campground - flush toilets and coin operated hot showers. There are cabins to rent if you don't want to camp. Call quickly and tell them you are with GMAC. |

| Canoeing |
The Pine River is not an easy river, but it is manageable. Families have paddled this stretch for years. Just expect someone to go for a swim. There are tight corners and few rock gardens to traverse. I think you all will enjoy this classic Michigan river. We will paddle the Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge stretch - 4.5 hours. Important: Children under 12 will only be allowed on the river if the parents paddling have paddle the Pine previously. If you plan on bringing your own boat, contact your local DNR office to order a permit sticker. Watercraft permits are required for the Pine. Reserved in advance watercraft permits are $2.00 per watercraft per day. If permits are obtained the same day of use, there is no reservation fee. A recreation pass is also required for any parked vehicle at most river access sites. Permits are available through the Baldwin Ranger Station. For reservations or more information, please call (231) 745-3100. |
