We will be camping at the Hodenpyle campground at Fletchers Creek, North of Mesick, Michigan. Our canoe trip will start on the Manistee river above the Hodenpyle pond on the Middle Manistee. We will canoe to our campsite on Hodenpyle. Great food and great times are promised for all who attend this trip.!!
Specifics:
Directions From Flint, Michigan to Mesick, Michigan. (160 miles)
Take I-75 North 40+ miles to
US-10 West, Exit 162B.
Take US-10 West 55+ miles to M-115 towards Cadillac. Watch carefully
after the Clare rest stop for 10W to peel off to the right!!!
Take M-115 West 55+ miles to Mesick.
Past Mesick, you will pass over the Manistee River on a bridge.
Take the first left after the Bridge. This is N. Hodenpyle Dam Pond
Road. Take an immediate left after turning on Hodenpyle onto a dirt
road which leads to our campground. We will be camped somewhere
in the park, hopefully along the pond on the left side of the campground.
Here is a map showing North of Mesick, the river and the left turn onto
N. Hodenpyle Dam Rd.
