By Dan Nichols: On 11 July 2002 at 1:30 P.M., Ryan Nichols, known to his Air Force flying
buddies as "Trap", fishing with his old man "Bone"
Nichols from Niceville Florida (previously from Dayton OH) on the quiet
lake of Billy offered the unknown, underwater, slimy creatures called
fish one too many opportunities to injest the proverbial "plow jockey"--
natural in color of course--and Wayne Schuh's favorite. One nice, slightly
enormous, large mouth bass laying in the edge of the lillies at about
8 feet down and about 15 feet from the aluminum tackle tub decided that
there would not be another and better chance to SUCK in God's gift to
earth--a worm with three pricks. After the suck, the tug, the reel, the
net(Bone's specialty), the monster was making impressions on fuji-film--23
inches, 8 pounds. The very unfortunate part of the otherwise perfect event
was that Bone couldn't get the third prick out of the stomach of the specimen
quickly and the big guy was on his way to bass heaven so we didn't release
him--but I'm positive there's more than three bass this size in Billy--Coach
Crawford has two on the wall at the Purkizer's place.
